The dry state is the gas that contains mostly methane. The wet type contains ethane and butane besides methane.

You will need to burn 126.67 cubic feet of natural gas to produce the same energy as one gallon of gasoline. Hence, one gallon of gasoline is way more efficient than one cubic natural gas.
