Microsoft is doing its best to match the design of the Edge browser and Windows 11 UI. To reach one step close to achieving this milestone they’re working on bringing Windows 11 Fluent design (WinUI) to the Edge browser. Microsoft Edge drop setting is the first sidebar app to receive the Windows 11 fluent design. You can confirm this, if you’re running the latest Edge canary build and enabled Sidebar for apps in Edge. If you open Drop > (…) > Default settings. Here, if you open the drop-down for ‘Prefer opening image with‘ and ‘Prefer opening file with‘, you will find out that both the drop-downs is using Windows 11 WinUI. If it’s not a design bug, then on the basis of this visual component UI, it is possible that the Edge browser is getting a full design refresh. Officially there’s no information about whether Microsoft is working on this or not. But we will update you whenever we get more information or leaked screenshots about other components of the Edge browser. If you don’t know, the company introduced a new option that allows users to enable visual (Mica) effects of Windows 11 to various components of the Edge browser.
